Terms of Use

Last updated: October 26, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of FlUck at https://fluck-camera.com (the "Service"), operated by The FlUCK Team ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

1. What the Service is

The Service publishes information about marked police vehicles, submitted by volunteers using cameras and phones. The information is delayed, approximate, crowd-sourced and may be wrong, incomplete or out of date. It is provided for general public information only. It is not an emergency service, not navigation, and not legal advice. Do not rely on it for any decision where an error could cause harm.

2. Who may use it

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and legally able to agree to these Terms. You are responsible for following the laws that apply to you, including laws about recording video, photographing vehicles, reading licence plates, using a phone in a vehicle, and publishing location information.

3. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

4. Contributing sightings and cameras

When you register a camera and send reports, you confirm that you have the right to send them and that doing so is lawful where you are. You keep ownership of what you send. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, display (in delayed and approximate form) and delete it as needed to run and improve the Service. Your hacker handle and camera name are shown publicly. You are responsible for the security of your device and its key; tell us if a key is lost so it can be revoked.

4a. Downloads, live tags and following

Data licence. The sightings data in the downloads is made available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL) 1.0 (text): you may copy, adapt and use it, including commercially, if you credit "FlUck contributors", share adapted databases under the same licence, and keep your own copy open. The licence does not give you permission to do anything these Terms forbid.

Live tags are volunteers' rough, real-time hints that may be wrong, late or malicious; never use them while driving or as a basis for any decision that could hurt someone, and never use them to interfere with officers. The CSV and GeoJSON downloads contain the same delayed, approximate public data shown on the map, so everything in these Terms applies to them: do not use them to harass, stalk or endanger anyone, and do not present them as official records. Following by e-mail is a convenience that can be late or fail; do not rely on it for safety. Automated downloads should stay within the rate limits.

5. Our rights

We may at any time, with or without notice: remove or correct information (including vehicles reported in error); revoke keys; limit or block addresses or cameras; and change, suspend or end the Service. We will remove a vehicle that was recorded in error on request (see Contact).

6. Open-source software

The FlUck software is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). That licence, not these Terms, governs your use, copying and modification of the code. These Terms govern use of this hosted Service. The source code is available at https://github.com/hacker213/FlUck.

7. Third-party content and links

Map data and tiles come from OpenStreetMap contributors and are not ours. Links to other sites are provided for convenience; we do not control and are not responsible for them. See Copyright & Credits.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AVAILABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, The FlUCK Team AND THE PROJECT'S CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO US$100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless The FlUCK Team and the project's contributors from claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your reports, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (licence to contributed data already published, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity, governing law) survive termination.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be brought in the courts located there.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
